Mayor's Messages
Annual Organization Meeting
On April 4, 2016, the Board of Trustees held its Annual Organization Meeting.  The agenda was highlighted by the swearing-in of Trustees Margaret Hagan and Kenneth Moore (sworn in April 1st).  Both Trustees were re-elected for another two year term.  They ran unopposed and their re-election is a telling endorsement by the residents of Bellerose Village as recognition of their commitment and service to the Village.  I thank and congratulate Peggy and Ken and look forward to our continuing working together.
Additionally, numerous residents were appointed to the various vital volunteer service roles which are necessary to supporting and maintaining Village operations and the Village’s character.  These residents donate their time, effort and expertise and by so doing, allow substantial cost savings to the entire community.  Their service is honorable and is greatly appreciated.
Public Hearing – Proposed Village Budget
The annual public hearing on the proposed budget is scheduled for Monday, April 18 at 7:30PM at Village Hall. The Board of Trustees and I have worked diligently for the past five years to ensure that the Village of Bellerose continues to provide a prudent fiscal plan for the benefit of all of the residents of the Village.  I am happy to report that the proposed budget will result in a 0% tax increase for the Village for the next fiscal year. The budget has been prepared with a prudent consideration for continuing and improving the service levels expected by our taxpayers and for maintaining the financial integrity and stability of our Village.
The Board of Trustees and I recognize the financial challenges you as taxpayers in Nassau County face and are proud to represent you and hope that this proposed budget with no tax increase will help you as residents to continue to enjoy living in this beautiful community. Draft copies of the proposed budget are available at Village Hall and on the Village website.  I urge all citizens to review the budget and attend the public hearing on April 18th where a comprehensive presentation will be made.
The Village Playground will be open seven days per week from 9AM to dusk through November, weather permitting.  Please note a surveillance camera was installed overlooking the playground last September for enhanced security purposes.  If you have any questions, I can be reached at 516-354-1000 and I will call you back.  For general information, visit the Village Website for updates at www.bellerosevillage.org.
